Seventh son sequel movie
It turns out the kid is possessed by Mother Malkin, who has escaped and soon kills poor Billy. Master Gregory, who has an apprentice named Billy Bradley (Kit Harington, “Game of Thrones”), is summoned to deal with a possessed girl child. Sporting godawful looking 3-D and an excess of cheesy CGI fantasy-film effects, “Seventh Son” shifts ahead a few decades. The film, directed by Sergey Bodrov of the far superior Russian epic “Mongol: The Rise of Genghis Khan,” begins with scenes of a bearded man imprisoning someone atop a mountain in a cave.Įventually, we learn that the man was a younger Gregory and the “someone” was Mother Malkin (Julianne Moore, who is a great actress, but no Margaret Hamilton or Meryl Streep, for that matter), an evil witch who takes her power from the “blood moon,” which is about to reach its fullest stage.
SEVENTH SON SEQUEL MOVIE SERIES
In this film’s mythology, a witch hunter is “a Spook.” With roots in everything from “The Lord of the Rings” to “Harry Potter” and “Game of Thrones,” the film is “inspired by” “The Spook’s Apprentice,” the first in a 2004 series of books for children by Brit Joseph Delaney. The second best is The Nanny: The Complete Series. In the eye-gouging load of nonsense also known as “Seventh Son,” Academy Award winner Jeff Bridges, fresh off “The Giver,” plays Master Gregory, a witch hunter, who looks and sounds like a faux-medieval Col. The best-selling new release of the week is Seventh Son, which is a terrible sign. Unfortunately, none of them seem like big sellers. It is a summer week on the home market, as there are a ton of summer shows coming out on DVD. Also, its Blu-ray share is lower than expected for an action film.ĭVD and Blu-ray Releases for May 26th, 2015 The film is nearly in the top ten on the 2015 combined chart, but given its box office, it should have sold twice that. During its first week of release, it sold 1.20 million units and generated $22.57 million in sales for an opening week Blu-ray share of 42%. American Sniper dominated the combined home market chart selling ten times as many units as the second place film.
It was a very shallow week for new releases with only one release that made any real impact. Home Market Numbers: American is Number One It is now in fifth place on the 2015 combined chart, but again, given its box office, it should be higher. Fortunately, American Sniper held on a lot better than most releases do, and was down just 27% to 844,000 units/ $16.01 million in consumer spending for the week, giving it totals of 1.99 million units / $37.40 million after two weeks of release. The week ending May 31 was a terrible week for new releases with only one that sold more than 50,000 units on the combined home market chart. Home Market Numbers: Sniper Steady on Top The bold credits above the line are the "above-the-line" credits, the other the "below-the-line" credits. Production and Technical Credits Sergey Bodrov
SEVENTH SON SEQUEL MOVIE UPDATE
Figures will therefore fluctuate each week, and totals for individual titles can go up or down as we update our estimates.īecause sales figures are estimated based on sampling, they will be more accurate for higher-selling titles. In particular, we adjust weekly sales figures for the quarter once the total market estimates are published by the Digital Entertainment Group. We refine our estimates from week to week as more data becomes available. The consumer spending estimate is based on the average sales price for the title in the retailers we survey. The market share is converted into a weekly sales estimate based on industry reports on the overall size of the market, including reports published in Media Play News.įor example, if our weekly retail survey estimates that a particular title sold 1% of all units that week, and the industry reports sales of 1,500,000 units in total, we will estimate 15,000 units were sold of that title. Our DVD and Blu-ray sales estimates are based on weekly retail surveys, which we use to build a weekly market share estimate for each title we are tracking.
